Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) is a technology andmethod used to assess the environmental impact of products throughout theirlife cycle from the acquisition of raw materials, to the production and the disposal of used products.
The Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) of recycled spandex from Huafon Chemical was carried out by Intertek Group, a third-party audit agency. Intertek evaluated the greenhouse effect, abiotic depletionpotential and water consumption of recycled spandex from cradle to gate.
It has been proved that for each kilogram of Qianxi Recycled Spandex produced, compared with Qianxi Conventional Spandex, the Global Warming Potential is reduced by 72%, the Abiotic Depletion Potential is reduced by 67%, and the Water Consumption isreduced by up to 95% from cradle to gate, providing green and environment-friendly spandex raw materials for end brands and consumers.
During the LCA evaluation, Huafon Chemical mainly collected the data of Qianxi Recycled Spandex from the manufacturingprocess and transportation of raw material, production, packaging and transportation of products, and Intertek was responsible for the factory inspection and data calculation.
